This is a Quicktime movie. It has a personality of its own and it can take a few minutes for the video to load itself. Sometimes you get strange messages about pushing space bars and other times, if you do not automatically see the video picture, you need to click on the green arrow in the rectangle at the top near the title for the for the video and play button to appear. Often the video and play button come up by themselves but it takes quite a while. When the video and it's control bar is visable click on the play button (the forward triangle to the left under the video box) to see the video. The Memorial Service was about 1 1/2 hours and may be more than you want to watch, or have time to watch at one sitting. Once the video has started you can also move the round button ahead and stop when you reach a point in the video you want to see.
If your computer tells you you need to download Quicktime, or if you cannot see the movie, you can down load a FREE quicktime by clicking here. You will see a section in the middle of the page labeled, "Download the free player." Choose your operating system (for most of you it will be Windows XP). Uncheck the boxes asking you to sign up for various services and emails from Apple and ignore the box asking for your email address. Then click "free download now". Windows machines will ask you if you want to download or run the file; choose to run the file. Along the way just answer yes to all questions. This process takes a while but it is worth having Quick time and it enables you to see the memorial service!
Thank you for joining us. Over the next few days the text for the speeches will be put up on the blog if you prefer to read them.

Dear Carol, et al,
Thank you so much for posting the video of the DC service for Mara. Like everyone who attended in person, I both laughed and cried watching it.
I will be attending the service this Sunday (12/2) here in Portland for Mara, and I'm sure I'll laugh and cry there as well.
Thinking of you all . . .
Lisa Kenn
Like Lisa, I thank you all so much. What an avalanche of cleansing emotion. Wishing I could be in Portland tomorrow. In the meantime, thinking of you all.
And like Lisa (I imagine) I'm turning to chicken soup...
P.S. A reminder that If any of you happens to have a digital image of Mara that you'd like to share, you can post it on the following website:

You'll find several very beautiful photos there already, mostly from Zlatna (and one from me)!
Dear Carol,
I already sent you a letter via your personal mail, but I am not sure if you find any time these days to check your mail. I did manage to open the video and be with all of you on that emotional day, in spirit...
The way I will be in Portland today, too.
May Mara rest in peace carried on angels' wings!
May God bless you all!
Love, Zlatna
