Last moments with David

Ah -- the last moments with David. It was a bit hectic but luckily we enjoy spending time together so much it didn't stress us out. I knew that after David left, my focus would be on rest and recovery so I would not have missed his last minutes in the country for anything.

The last weekend consisted of an outing to Annapolis for dinner (two photos).

It also involved David taking one more pass at my scalp before he left. Unlike chemo, where all one's hair falls out (ALL -- nose hair, eyelashes, etc), for some reason this hair fall out is a bit patchy. There are clear blank spots, but there are also patches of hair that are coming back. Kind of scary! They say after brain radiation expect three to four months till it starts coming back. So I guess I am going to continue to shave my head until there is consistency.

Lastly, I included a few shots of putting the car to bed. It has become such ritual since I have known David. The only sad part was that I didn't have the energy to help him wash the car this year! But you see Will's lovely "cabin" and know why we are always so happy to go hang out there for weekend of putting the car to bed! The last photo features David and Will putting the final touches on! Will is David's dear friend from grad school -- they were roommates during their year in Bologna, Italy at SAIS.
